Went for an outing with the kids -- Marilyn took the van and I took Kerry's car. Marilyn had Jean, Ty, Pooh, Johnathon, and Alex. I had Ryn, Sierra, Rylee, and Samantha. We were headed for the Lincoln Children's Museum. We separated because Ryn wanted to get her digital camera checked out at a camera shop.
On the way Marilyn called about a decent gas price and my phone, which I thought I'd charged the overnight, went dead at the end of the call. Of course, things didn't go as planned at the camera store, and Ryn ended up spending $1300+ for a new Nikon and we ended up waiting for her for in the parking lot for about 45 minutes. That made us later than I had intended at the CM. When we got there no Honda in sight, but we got out, fed the meter, and ended up discovering that the CM is not open on Mondays. Where is Marilyn? What to do next?
Of course, I couldn't have thought of a simple pay phone to call Marilyn. Don't call me Brain Dead for nothing.
So, as we had seen a sign for a zoo on the way in, we went back down "O" to find it. Turns out it is on 27th street and we had come up 27th already. Um-hum. 'Bout right. We we drove -- and drove -- and drove -- and sure enough ended up at the south end of 27th and no zoo. But did find a McDonald's so fed the girls and selves and everybody was happy. Also got instructions to the zoo at McD's and backtracked and found it right away, right at 27th and "A". Zoo closes at 1700 and it was already 1615, but we went in anyway and the girls had a great time and felt the day was a success.
Post-zoo, headed back to Eagle to find pizza waiting. Marilyn and group arrived shortly with Marilyn pissed because I hadn't thought of alternative telephone possibilities and feeling I had ditched her for a day with Ryn -- as if!! But she finally calmed down and was not shooting daggers at me.
Watched Equilibrium -- which it turns out I had seen before but Ryn and Marilyn enjoyed it.
Baby was so tired that when I put her down around 1930 she let out not a peep but took her bottle and settled in for the night.
Ryn, Kerry, and a gaggle of kids are off to Casey's for another pizza as we et the rest. Nothing like a day in the fresh air to whet the appetite.
I got my pictures from the zoo etc. uploaded to Google pics, but again couldn't get MediaMax to take a long upload. Will have to bitch and get that figured out.
