Wednesday Evening, 8:00 P.M.
Well, today was a mixed bag. Pooh arrived, which is good. Sierra had intestinal troubles and arrived later -- it was nice to see her. Sierra and Pooh played, which took a little pressure off me. But with Sierra's "troubles" she took more attention that usual.
Karen called shortly after she left to tell me there was a turtle in the driveway. So I took the girls outside and there was a turtle in the driveway. He must have felt our vibrations because he was drawn up into his shell. I thought we should take a picture or two, so I got out Sierra's and my cameras and we went back out. No turtle! But I found him hiding in the tall grass next to the driveway. Apparently they can move rather quickly if they want to. Unfortunately, Sierra's memory card was full and mine managed to erase itself during one of my periodic mental meltdowns.
Everybody had omelets for brunch -- they being their usual hit. Pooh even managed to mooch a couple of bites off mine.
Put the girls in the tub around 1100. Pooh managed to soak off most of the marker lines she had put all over her legs. She also got her hair wet so I took the opportunity to wash it -- which didn't make her happy at all.
Around 1230 Pooh seemed tired so I tried putting her down -- no success. She and Sierra kept me busy until around 1445 when Karen arrived to get Sierra. I immediately put Pooh down and she went to sleep, but only for about 90 minutes -- not nearly enough to suit me -- or her. So we put on Ice Age and watched that.
My back is really giving me problems -- can't seem to get comfortable on any piece of furniture we own. I'm having pains up and down my left arm and into my left thumb, and my left leg has a dead strip down the outside from knee to ankle. Looks like surgery one of these days. Yummy!
Also found myself nibbling today without any idea of what I really wanted. Finally made some Chicken Poppers (chicken stuffed with cheese and peppers) which were okay. Funny though, Pooh really liked them and didn't even seem to mind the peppers.
Kerry picked her baby up around 1815 and I've been a veg ever since. Was going to make some bean soup but couldn't work up enough enthusiasm.
Marilyn is working late.
